Tascam TH-05 Closed-Back Monitoring Headphones

The TH-05 is built to tell you what is actually on the track. Its 40 mm magnet drivers give a flat, unflattered picture of the source, and the closed-back oval cups seal around the ear so a loud cue mix does not leak back into an open microphone. Response runs 15 Hz to 22 kHz into a 32 ohm load, which is easy enough for a recorder headphone jack or a laptop interface to drive properly.

The cups rotate 180 degrees for one-ear monitoring, and the frame pairs a manganese headband with tightly stitched padding on the band and cups, so a long tracking session does not turn into a clamp test. The 9.8 ft cable ends in a gold-plated 1/8 in mini jack with a screw-on 1/4 in adapter, and a black leatherette travel bag comes with it.
