The BD-MP4K is a rackmount disc and file player built for installed systems rather than a living room. One transport covers 4K Ultra HD BD, BD25/BD50, DVD-Video and DVD-VR, CD-DA, and files from SD or USB media, so a venue that still runs discs and a venue that has moved to files can use the same unit. Power On Play starts the loaded disc as soon as the rack comes up, and the HIDE MENU function keeps the on-screen furniture off the projector.

Video leaves on HDMI 2.0 with a second HDMI 1.4 port for audio only, and audio is available on balanced XLR alongside unbalanced RCA and coaxial digital, which means the player can feed a house PA and a display chain at once without an external breakout. Sampling rates up to 192 kHz are supported from disc and file media, and an external remote control input lets the unit sit behind a locked rack door.
