Symetrix USB Audio Card
The USB Audio Card bridges a computer to the Dante network through the DSP. It adds up to 16 channels of USB audio I/O to a Radius DSP, or up to 64 channels to an Edge, which covers a soft codec in a meeting room at one end of the range and a multitrack capture rig at the other.
Several modes are provided. Two speakerphone modes handle conferencing and let you choose between the soft codec's own echo cancellation and Symetrix AEC, which is usually the better of the two. A 2x2 line mode and an 8x8 line mode handle recording and playback. Speakerphone and 2x2 modes are class 1 USB, so they are driverless and connect without an IT ticket; the 8x8 line mode uses class 2 USB and ships with Windows ASIO drivers. The connection is a high-retention Type B USB socket, chosen so a permanently installed cable stays seated.
