SerialCommander is Softron's USB-to-serial hardware, breaking a single USB connection out to four RS422 ports on individual DB9 connectors. It is the way to add serial deck control to a Mac that has no native RS422 hardware, which is the normal case for anything running MovieRecorder, M|Replay, or the rest of Softron's ingest and replay software.

Each of the four ports operates independently, so one SerialCommander can drive four separate decks or serial devices from one Mac without a bank of individual USB-to-serial adapters cluttering the rack.
