Shure WB98H/C Instrument Microphone
The WB98H/C is the wireless version of Shure's Beta 98H/C miniature instrument microphone. It clamps directly onto the bell of a wind instrument or the rim of a drum or percussion piece, keeping the capsule locked in position while the player moves. The cardioid condenser element captures brass, woodwinds, and percussion with detail, and its high maximum SPL lets it sit close to loud sources without overloading. The cardioid pattern delivers strong gain-before-feedback and rejects the rest of the stage.
Rather than a preamp and XLR, the WB98H/C ends in a 1.6 m (5.3 ft) high-flex cable terminated in a TA4F 4-pin mini-connector that plugs straight into a Shure bodypack transmitter, freeing the player from a cable run. An integrated shock-mount isolates the capsule from mechanical noise. It ships with a windscreen and a zippered carrying bag.
