Rode NTR Active Ribbon Microphone
The RODE NTR is a precision active ribbon microphone built around one of the thinnest ribbon elements made, at 1.8 microns. That featherweight ribbon reacts fast to transients and reaches higher in frequency than a traditional ribbon, giving the NTR a smooth, natural midrange with air on top rather than the rolled-off darkness ribbons are known for. Its bidirectional figure-8 pattern makes it a natural for Blumlein and mid-side stereo as well as close work on guitar cabinets, strings, brass and drum rooms.
A custom-designed transformer and onboard active electronics deliver a high, clean output, so it drives a preamp easily instead of demanding huge gain. The delicate ribbon sits on an internal shock-mounting system to protect it from vibration and knocks, and RODE includes one free ribbon replacement during the warranty period. It ships with the RM2 mic holder.
