Panasonic AJ-YBX200G AVC-Intra Codec

The AJ-YBX200G is an AVC-Intra codec option board for Panasonic P2 acquisition. Installed in an AJ-HPX2000 or AJ-HPX2100 camera recorder or an AJ-HPM100 portable recorder, it adds intra-frame AVC-Intra recording alongside the host unit's existing DVCPRO codecs, upgrading the platform to 10-bit 4:2:2 master-quality acquisition.

AVC-Intra is built on the H.264 standard and records at two rates: AVC-Intra 100 for full-quality 10-bit 4:2:2 capture, and AVC-Intra 50, which matches DVCPRO HD quality at half the data rate and roughly doubles record time per P2 card. The board installs internally and is enabled from the system setup menu of the host recorder.
