NETGEAR APM402XL 2-Port 40G QSFP+ Port Card for M4300-96X
The M4300-96X is a chassis rather than a fixed-port switch: twelve slots that you fill with the media the room actually needs. The APM402XL is the fastest card in that set, giving one slot over to two 40GBASE ports that take QSFP+ optics or 40G direct-attach copper. Where the copper and SFP+ cards serve endpoints, this one is the card you put in for the trunk back to the core, or for the link that ties two chassis together.
Each 40G port can also be broken out and configured as expandable ports, so a single QSFP+ cage can feed four 10G links when that is the more useful shape. The card draws 23W and is hot-swappable, so it goes in or comes out without powering the chassis down, and slot-based port numbering means the ports it adds are addressed by slot position rather than renumbering everything around them.
