Martin VC-Feeder Power and Data Interface for VC-Dot Strings
The VC-Feeder is the small aluminium box that sits between a Martin VC-Dot string and whatever is feeding it. It takes 48 VDC power and data on a 6-pin IP66 BBD connector from a P3 PowerPort 1500, a P3 PowerPort 1000 IP or an IP66 240 W supply, converts to the 15 VDC the dots run on, and passes power and data out on an 8-pin IP67 connector. A thru connector carries the incoming feed on to the next feeder, so a run daisy-chains without a separate distribution point.
It detects the connected product automatically and adapts its control mode and DMX channel count to suit, so the same unit serves VC-Dot 1, VC-Dot 4 and VC-Dot 9 strings without reconfiguration. Control comes either from a P3 system controller or from any RDM-compliant DMX console to USITT DMX512-A and ANSI/ESTA E1.20, and the feeder handles brightness, gamma, color temperature and calibration processing plus synchronization on the way through. The extruded aluminium housing is IP65, mounts on two M6 slots or an M12 rigging clamp hole in any orientation, and carries a temperature sensor for thermal shutdown. This listing is the BBD-connector model, P/N 90357041.
