Lumantek ez-CGER mini USB 3.0 SDI Character Generator

The ez-CGER mini turns any laptop into a live character generator without an SDI output card in the machine. A single USB 3.0 connection carries the graphics out of the computer and the adapter produces two SDI feeds, one fill and one key, ready to drop into the downstream keyer on a switcher. There is no power brick and no card to install, which is why it works for the rig that gets built and struck the same day.

The bundled ez-CGER software handles the content: still images, video clips, and text files for lower thirds, scores, credits, and ticker lines. The interface is deliberately plain, so the operator running graphics is not required to be the operator who set the show up. Physically it is a mini-converter-sized box that hangs off the laptop rather than occupying rack space.
