IDX SB-U50 PD 48Wh Sony BP-U Type Battery

The SB-U50 PD is IDX's 48Wh replacement for the Sony BP-U pack, fitting PXW-FX9 and FX6, FS7 and FS5, and the PXW and PMW series camcorders. The PD generation improved the accuracy of the remaining-capacity readout in the Sony viewfinder, which is the specification that actually matters when a shot depends on it.

What sets it apart from an OEM pack is the two extra ports: a 35W D-Tap for a monitor or a small light, and a USB Type-C PD port that works in both directions, taking up to 30W in to charge the battery or handing power out to a phone or recorder. A four-LED gauge reads state of charge, and the internal circuitry protects against over charge, over discharge, over current and over temperature. It charges in the IDX MC-2U, UC-PD1 and UC-PD2.
