The Alpha-I is a 4 x 5.65-inch solid neutral density filter built for cinema lenses and matte boxes, with a full-spectrum IR-corrected formula that holds color neutral across the visible and near-infrared range instead of pushing red the way cheaper ND glass does.

It ships in seven standard densities from 0.3 to 2.1, a 1-stop trim through a 7-stop day-for-night pull in 1-stop steps, so a matte box kit covers a full day's light range without stacking filters. Each filter comes with a padded pouch and weighs well under half a pound.
