The XF18mm f/1.4 R LM WR is the modern, professional take on the 27mm-equivalent wide angle, built for edge-to-edge sharpness wide open rather than the compact compromise of the older f/2 pancake. A 15-element optical design with ED and aspherical glass controls aberration and distortion, and a linear motor drives autofocus quickly and quietly for both stills and video.

It is weather-sealed with eight seals against dust and moisture and rated to work down to -10C, making it a dependable reportage and documentary lens. It focuses to 20cm for near-macro framing, and the f/1.4 aperture gives it real low-light and subject-separation ability in a wide prime.
