Epiphan Pearl-2 4K Live Production System
The Epiphan Pearl-2 is the top of the Pearl line, built for events that need real 4K switching, streaming, and recording at the same time. Two 12G-SDI, two HDMI/DVI, and two 4K HDMI/DVI connectors take up to six sources at once, and it also pulls in network video: H.264 RTSP, NDI, NDI|HX, and SRT. From those it can encode and stream one 4K Ultra HD program or up to six 1080p programs simultaneously, driven by a 6th-generation Intel i7 that captures 4K at 30 fps.
Everything can be recorded locally to the built-in 512 GB SSD while it streams, so there is a full-quality archive independent of the network. Audio is handled properly for live production, with two stereo XLR inputs, a stereo RCA input, and audio embedded on the SDI and HDMI feeds. The base unit is a desktop chassis; the rackmount version puts the same system in a rack for a fixed installation.
