The UA0897 is the shock mount for the awkward positions - a stand on a resonant stage deck, a rig near machinery, a mount on a moving platform - where a normal clip transmits enough structure-borne energy to show up as low-frequency rumble in the recording.

The microphone is suspended in elastic rather than clamped, which decouples it from the stand. It takes DPA pencil microphones in their 19 mm bodies.
