DPA Microphones DPA MMC2011 Twin Diaphragm Cardioid Capsule
The MMC2011 builds its cardioid pattern from two diaphragms and a short interference tube rather than one large element. The result is a directional capsule with a 3 dB soft boost near 12 kHz and a maximum SPL of 153 dB peak, which is why the 2011A it belongs to keeps turning up on snare drums, guitar cabinets and brass.
It is the capsule half of a modular microphone. Fit an MMP-A for a full-length pencil mic, an MMP-C for a short one, or an MMP-E active cable for hanging and rigged positions. Figures below are measured as a complete 2011A.
