Countryman E6 Earset Microphone

The E6 is Countryman's most-ordered microphone and the reason most sound operators stop fighting lavaliers. An ultra-miniature electret condenser element sits at the end of a thin stainless steel boom, held at the corner of the mouth by one soft earpad, so it stays put through movement and delivers the same level whether the wearer faces front or turns away. At 0.07 oz it disappears both visually and physically, and the four skin-tone colors make it read as a shadow rather than hardware on camera.

Order it as an omnidirectional element, which is water- and wind-resistant and the right choice for most rooms, or as the directional version whose two included protective caps switch it between cardioid and hypercardioid for loud monitors and difficult feedback. Three sensitivities cover the range from a lectern presentation (W5) through theater projection (W6) to the most powerful vocals (W7), and the boom comes in the classic springy style, the highly flexible E6i, or the E6 Flex that pairs a springy ear section with a soft front boom for fast changeovers between performers. The cable detaches at the connector, so a transmitter change is a cable swap and not a new microphone.
