Crestron CSP-LIR-USB IR Learner
Every installation eventually meets a device with no published IR file. The CSP-LIR-USB is how one gets made: it plugs into a computer's USB port, runs under the Crestron Toolbox Device Learner tool, and captures commands from the original remote up to 1.2 MHz into a Crestron IR device file that can be edited and managed alongside the rest of the project.
It also transmits. A built-in IR flasher plays the captured code straight back at the equipment, so a command can be proved on the bench before the file ships to a control processor. Five LEDs report the state of each capture without switching back to the software: amber READY and SIGNAL, red OVERDRIVE when the remote is held too close and the waveform saturates, red FAILED, and green COMPLETE. It draws 500 mA or less at 5VDC from the USB port, needs no other power, and at 2.68 by 1.00 in it plugs directly into a host port or onto the included retractable cable.
