BSS Soundweb London Digital Input Card, AES/EBU and S/PDIF

The Digital Input Card brings AES/EBU and S/PDIF audio into a card-based Soundweb London chassis, four channels to a slot, on a BLU-800, BLU-805, BLU-806, BLU-320, BLU-325, BLU-326, BLU-160, BLU-120, BLU-80, BLU-32 or BLU-16. The format is chosen per stereo pair, so one card can be two AES/EBU pairs, two S/PDIF pairs, or one of each.

Two Combicon connectors carry the four channels, with the shield terminal shorted to the negative pin when unshielded cable is used. That mixed-format flexibility is what lets a rack take an AES feed from a house system and an S/PDIF feed from a media player on the same card.
