Vinten 3103-3 Mitchell Adaptor, 4-Hole Flat Base to Heavy-Duty Tripod

The 3103-3 lets a pan and tilt head with a four-hole flat base go onto a Heavy Duty Tripod that presents a Mitchell fixing. It is the adaptor that keeps an HDT-1 or HDT-2 useful when the head on the truck is a four-bolt one.

It is a machined interface with nothing to adjust, so once it is bolted in place the tripod simply reads as a four-hole support. Vinten builds it specifically around the HDT-1 and HDT-2 tripods rather than as a general Mitchell adaptor.
