Shure KSM42/SG Vocal Condenser Microphone
The KSM42/SG is a large dual-diaphragm cardioid condenser built specifically for the voice. Its active front diaphragm is an ultra-thin 2.5-micron, 24-karat gold-layered, one-inch Mylar element, and Shure's Prethos advanced preamplifier keeps self-noise extremely low with a wide dynamic range, so intimate vocals stay clean and detailed. A soft presence rise between 7 and 10 kHz adds intelligibility without harshness.
Extensive internal and external pop filtering plus a non-switchable low-frequency roll-off below 100 Hz tame plosives and rumble at close range. It runs on standard 11-52V phantom power and ships in the champagne finish with the A42SM Shurelock rubber suspension shock mount, A42PF magnetic pop filter, AK42C zippered carrying case, A42VB velveteen pouch, and a spare set of shock-mount O-rings.
