Sennheiser i30B-L Boundary Microphone System
The i30B-L is a boundary-layer microphone system built around Sennheiser's ME 36 capsule, made to sit on a conference table, altar, or stage floor and pick up talkers across the surface. Mounting the capsule flush against a boundary removes the phase cancellation you get from reflections off the tabletop, so speech stays clear and full without the hollow sound of a mic floating above the surface. The super-cardioid/lobar ME 36 element still favors the voices in front of it and rejects the room behind.
The capsule seats in an MZBD 36 boundary-layer adapter and feeds an MZC 30 cable with an inline preamp, terminated in a 3-pin XLR. It runs on standard 12 to 48 V phantom power and carries the ME 36's wide 40 to 20,000 Hz response.
