Sennheiser e608 Microphone

The Sennheiser e608 is a miniature dynamic instrument microphone built to clip onto the bell of a horn or the rim of a drum and stay out of the way. Its flexible gooseneck and multifunction mount let you aim the capsule exactly where the sound is, and the dynamic element shrugs off the very high sound pressure levels that brass, drums, and woodwinds throw at it without distorting.

The super-cardioid pattern keeps the mic tight on its own source and rejects the stage around it, which matters when you are close-miking a horn section or a kit where every instrument has its own mic. It runs passive with no phantom power required and feeds a standard 3-pin XLR, so it drops into any console channel.
