Sound Control Technologies API-12 Auxiliary Power Injector

The API-12 is a small add-on module for an RC5 camera extension run. It takes the Ethernet and 12VDC that the RC5-CE camera-end box already delivers and combines them into 48VDC PoE on a single RJ45 port, feeding up to 42W to the camera or video bar at the far end. That removes the local power supply, and the outlet it needed, from the camera position.

Ethernet passes through unaltered at full 1 Gbps for streaming and device control, so nothing changes on the network side. Installation is plug and play with no programming, which is what makes it useful mid-life: an existing RC5 deployment running a Cisco PTZ 4K can move to a Cisco Room Vision PTZ without re-pulling cable. The module ships with a short RJ45 patch cable.
