The cardioid electret capsule favors the wearer's voice and rejects crowd and stage noise, and the SmartBoom boom arm doubles as the mute: flip it up and the mic is off, flip it down and you are live.

This version terminates in a 5-pin XLR male connector, the two-channel wiring used by dual-channel and binaural intercom belt packs. Its ear cushion, temple pad, and windscreen are all replaceable, and the non-reflective rubberized matte-black finish keeps it from catching stage or camera light.
