Panasonic WX-SZ200 Desktop Charging Station

The Panasonic WX-SZ200 is the desk-top charging dock for Panasonic's 1.9 GHz DECT wireless microphone system. Two ports take any combination of WX-ST200 handheld microphones and WX-ST400 bodypack transmitters, so a classroom or boardroom drops its mics in the cradle at the end of the day and finds them charged the next morning. The ports are contactless: there are no exposed pins to bend, corrode or scrub, and the dock wipes down in seconds, which matters in shared rooms where the same handheld passes between presenters.

A full charge takes about 6 hours at 25 C using Panasonic's AA Ni-MH cell (BK-3MCCA), and per-port LEDs report power and charging errors at a glance. Note the requirement: the microphones and bodypacks must be fitted with AA rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, since the station charges the cells in the transmitter rather than a proprietary pack. The unit runs on AC 120 V 60 Hz through the included DC 12 V adapter, draws up to 5 W, weighs 0.99 lb (450 g), and is backed by a 3-year parts and labor warranty.
