The MAC Quantum Profile puts a 475 W LED engine behind a full profile optical train, which means 12,700 lumens with no lamp to strike, no lamp to replace and a rated engine life of 50,000 hours to 70 percent output. For theatre and broadcast the payoff is noise: there is no hot restrike cycle and no discharge ballast, so the fixture can sit over a quiet scene and still be dimmed smoothly.

The effects package is a full one. CMY mixing runs 0 to 100 percent, a 6-filter color wheel adds saturated positions, a 6-gobo rotating wheel and a 10-gobo static wheel handle texture and breakup, and a rotating three-facet prism plus a full iris cover the aerial work. Zoom is 12 to 36 degrees, pan and tilt are 540 and 268 degrees, and the LED engine refreshes at 3000 Hz so it stays clean on camera.
