The 165MV is a universal ground spreader that takes spiked tripod tips rather than rubber feet, so the legs are held both by the spreader arms and by the spikes biting into the deck. That is what keeps a tripod from creeping under a long lens on grass or a raked floor.

The arms adjust with variable diameter width controls, so the same spreader covers a wide low setup and a narrow tall one, and it works with most Manfrotto tripods. Technopolymer rather than metal, 0.81 kg (1.79 lb).
