Manfrotto 425B Mega Boom
The 425B puts a fixture 320 cm out over a set from a stand parked safely off to the side. Extension and elevation run on geared crank handles rather than a friction clamp, so a heavy head moves a few centimetres at a time under control instead of dropping when the knob lets go. Pan, tilt and rotation are all worked by remote control from the operator end.
The frame is black zinc and aluminum, it takes a 1 1/8 in (28 mm) socket at the top, and counterweight sandbags balance the load at the tail. Rated to 30 kg overall and 6 kg at full extension, it folds into two compact sections for transport. The stand is not included; pair it with one of the Super Wind Up stands sized for the load.
