The LA-398 terminates or taps aluminium foil-wound loop cable without scraping or fluxing the foil. The barrel crimps the foil across a 0.454 by 0.708 inch contact area and takes 14-16 AWG wire on the other end, so a loop run can be joined or branched mid-installation.

Contacts are nickel-finished copper, which exceeds the current-carrying requirement of a loop drive and does not inject noise into low-level audio circuits. Twelve terminations per pack, lead-free and RoHS compliant.
