Buying spares by the crew size is the usual approach: one in the pack, one charged in the case, swapped at the meal break. It is a drop-in replacement rather than a capacity upgrade, so pack runtime stays what the system was specified at, and an aging cell that no longer holds a full shift gets retired instead of dictating the schedule.
