Heil Sound PL2T Articulating Microphone Boom Arm
The PL2T is Heil's studio boom and its defining feature is what you cannot hear. The spring tension is set internally at the factory rather than run on external springs, which removes the creak and twang that an exposed-spring arm puts into an open microphone every time it is repositioned mid-session.
Cable routing runs in covered channels along the arm, so a microphone lead is captured rather than velcro-strapped to the outside. It carries microphones up to 2.5 lbs and extends to 40 inches, and it ships with a Heil C-Clamp that opens to 1.5 inches for the desk edge. The head takes any industry-standard 5/8 in - 27 clip or shock mount, and it works with the Heil brass-lined mount range: DT-1, FL-2, RS-1, and WM-1.
