Electro-Voice PolarChoice Podium Gooseneck Microphone

PolarChoice was the first podium microphone that let the pattern be chosen at the microphone rather than designed in at purchase. Omni, cardioid, supercardioid and figure-8 are all on board, so the same gooseneck handles a lectern in a dead room and a lectern six feet from a loudspeaker.

Response stays smooth and uniform whichever pattern is selected, low-frequency response is extended with a switchable high-pass filter for rumble, and the steel base holds the microphone where it was put. Choose the 12 inch or 18 inch neck in the XLR-mount version, or the 12 inch flange-mount version to fix it through the top of a lectern.
