Electro-Voice PolarChoice PC Plus-5 Gooseneck Microphone
The PolarChoice PC Plus puts the pattern switching of a desktop microphone into a slim XLR-mounted gooseneck, and the -5 is the short neck for a low lectern or a table plate. A dual-capsule design gives four patterns - omnidirectional, cardioid, supercardioid and hypercardioid - selected on the mic rather than at the mixer.
An RF shield in the housing keeps phone and GSM interference out of the audio, which is the usual failure on a podium full of handsets. The push-button switch and status LED sit in the low-profile section of the housing where a talker can actually find them. Mount it in an XLR socket or flush in the furniture. Windscreen, two-piece shock mount and flush-mount parts kit are supplied.
