Electro-Voice ND44 Dynamic Instrument Microphone

The ND44 is a dynamic instrument microphone with a tight cardioid pattern, aimed at drum kits and other sources where the mic sits inches from the head and everything else on stage is competing for the same air.

The narrow pattern is the point: it holds onto the drum in front of it and rejects the cymbals and the wedge behind it. At 194 grams it is light enough to hang off a rim clamp without dragging the mount out of position.
