DVDO USB3.1-15M USB 3 Gen 1 Active Repeater Cable, 15m
Passive USB cable runs out of margin at around 3 m. This one is active: a repeater in the cable keeps a USB 3 Gen 1 link running at up to 5 Gbps over 15 m, so a camera, a hub, a touch display or an interactive whiteboard can sit across the room from the computer driving it. It is USB 3 Type A male to Type A female, plug and play with no driver, and backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices.
The two versions differ in how they are powered. The standard cable takes bus power from the host, which is enough for most peripherals. The PSU version adds a 5 V / 2 A adapter on a DC jack for devices that draw more, such as bus-powered hard drives, and supports daisy-chaining up to two repeater cables when the host end has a USB 3 add-on card or hub. A locking mechanism keeps the connection secure, and over-current detection and protection are built in.
