dbx 510 Subharmonic Synthesizer (500 Series)
The 510 runs dbx's patented Subharmonic Synthesis, generating new low-frequency content roughly an octave below whatever comes in on a 54 to 110 Hz input signal, producing usable output from 26 to 56 Hz. It is the module that adds real sub-bass weight to a kick or bass track without EQ boosting a frequency that was never there.
Input and output are electronically balanced and RF filtered, handling up to +22 dBu at either end, with frequency response flat to within half a decibel from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and dynamic range over 120 dB. It runs in any 500 Series rack, drawing 85 mA per rail from the shared power supply.
