The Auteur mkII 500 packs an ultra-fast input stage and a signal path transformer into a single 500 Series slot, aiming for detail and nuance on the way in with extra presence on the way out. A built-in Hi-Z input makes it just as useful on bass or guitar direct as it is on a microphone.

Gain sweeps from 16 to 67 dB with a 13 dB pad, phase inversion, and 48V phantom power on tap. The mic section holds a 6000 Ohm input impedance and a -108 dBu noise floor, while the DI section switches to 2.2 MOhm balanced or 1.1 MOhm unbalanced input impedance; both sections run 10 Hz to 30 kHz bandwidth. Output tops out at 28 dBu into 600 Ohms, and the module draws its power from the rack's shared plus/minus 15V rail.
