Black Box ACU5501A-R4 ServSwitch Wizard SRX KVM Extender - DVI-D, USB 2.0, Audio, CATx
Full DVI digital video, sent without compression or conversion, at 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz or 3840 x 2400 at 17 Hz. Moving the machine out of the room takes its heat and fan noise with it, which is the real reason edit suites and design studios buy extenders in the first place. Two CATx connections carry the link.
Direct runs reach 196 feet (59.7 m) on CAT7a, 180 feet (54.8 m) on CAT6 and 147 feet (44.8 m) on CAT5e; with patch panels in the path CAT7 still manages 164 feet (50 m). Keyboards, mice and other HID devices including touchscreens travel bidirectionally over the same cable, and extended-profile DDC EDID is passed from the display back to the source so high-resolution work - broadcast, CAD, medical imaging - gets the mode it should. Up to 16 units mount in the optional rack chassis; the local unit can draw power from the PC below 500 mA or take the 5 VDC supply.
