The 12TO8PLATE closes the gap when an enclosure was cut for a 12-inch driver and the design calls for an 8-inch speaker instead. The plate mounts in the existing 12-inch opening and presents an 8-inch mounting pattern, so a retrofit does not mean replacing the can, patching drywall, or fabricating a ring on site.
