AmericanDJ UC3 Controller

The UC3 is the wired hand controller for ADJ's easy-to-use fixture line - the alternative to a DMX desk when the rig is one or two effects and the operator is also running the music. A mode switch picks how the fixture behaves (fast or slow, sound-active, manual, auto, position, latch) and a function switch fires the effect: strobe, gobo change, colour change, X/Y pattern selection or X/Y position, depending on what the fixture can do.

It plugs in on a 1/4-inch stereo jack with roughly 32 feet of cable, so it reaches the booth from a fixture on a T-bar without an extension. The body is 3.54 x 2.36 x 0.78 inches and the whole thing weighs a pound, small enough to sit on the table next to the mixer. It works with more than 30 ADJ fixtures including the Galaxian series, the Fusion bars and the LED scanners; check the fixture's manual for which of the functions it responds to.
