A cold shoe is the fastest mounting point on a camera rig and the one most likely to already be free. This adapter gives an Ace Lock fixture a cold shoe foot, so a small amaran light goes straight onto a camera top plate, a cage, or a monitor arm.

At ten dollars it is the cheapest way to make a light useful on a moving camera, and it is small enough that keeping two in a pouch costs nothing.
