Weighing about one pound and only 1.5 inches thick, the FireStore FS-160 is an HD recorder designed to work with the new Panasonic AG-HVX200 P2 camera, supporting DVCPRO HD, DVCPRO 50, and DVCPRO/DV recording formats. The FS-160 provides long recording times and improves workflow with Direct To Edit® technology. It can also be used with other Panasonic DVCPRO/DVCPRO 50 and DVCPRO HD devices that have a FireWire port. The FireStore FS-160 interfaces with the Panasonic AG-HVX200 camcorder using a single FireWire cable that passes audio, video, timecode, and control information, allowing you to simultaneously record to disk and P2 card. It also includes a comprehensive backlit display, menu system, and buttons that provide easy control and management. The FS-160 Direct To Edit® portable HD recorder is ideal for long-form DVCPRO HD recording by offering hours of continuous recording. Equipped with a 160GB hard drive and Focus Enhancement's version 4.0 firmware upgrade, the FS-160 allows users to record up to 2.5 hours of DVCPRO HD 720p/1080i, 5.2 hours of DVCPRO50 or 10.4 hours of DVCPRO in QuickTime or P2 MXF files. The sleek, lightweight FS-160 is designed to be easily mounted (with an optional adapter) onto the AG-HVX200 P2 HD camcorder and includes a comprehensive backlit display, menu system, and buttons that provide easy control and management. The new FS-100 250GB model joins the lower capacity 160GB model. Both models will remain in the product line and current shipments include the recently released version 4.0 firmware. In addition to P2 and QuickTime DTE recording, version 4.0 offers the following new features for FS-100 users: Support for both P2 and QuickTime file formats PN variable frame rate (VFR) recording, which delivers stunning slow motion and fast motion effects(Be sure to have the User Bits on the camera in Frame Rate, and the output of the camera to be the 720P/24P and not the PN setting.) Support for 720p PN record mode, which more than doubles available DVCPRO HD record times QuickTime Reference Movie support, which enables long record sequences to appear as a single file Note: For optimum performance, it is recommended that users download the P2 Driver software for PC or Mac computers from Panasonic's website.
