Whether mounted directly to your camcorder or clipped to your belt, the FS-4 is designed to excel in the field. Featuring a comprehensive backlit display, an easy-to-use menu system, a hard drive, and a removable, rechargeable battery, the Focus FS-4 is the perfect DTE companion for DV and HDV handheld shoots. Designed for use in even the roughest conditions, the FS-4 includes a six- or ten-second (model-dependent) electronic shock cache to ensure that you never lose footage. Audio, video, timecode, and control information is passed through a single FireWire cable, allowing you to record to disk and tape simultaneously. And when recording is complete, your footage is ready to edit instantly - no capturing, file transfer, or file conversion is required. FS-4 Portable DTE Recorders are compatible with a wide range of nonlinear editing systems. CAPTURING IS A THING OF THE PAST! Tapeless acquisition is quickly being accepted as the standard in broadcast production. Now everyone can make capturing a thing of the past with FS-4 or FS-4 Pro. Record directly from your camcorder while you shoot using Direct To Edit (DTE) Technology. When you are finished shooting, connect FS-4 to your computer and you are instantly ready to edit in the timeline! No capturing, no file transfer, no file conversion. Just shoot, then edit! TRUE DTE TECHNOLOGY No matter which DV NLE system you have, FireStore FS-4 has you covered. On FS-4, files are recorded to disk as RawDV, AVI Type 1, AVI Type 2, AVI Type 2 24p, Matrox AVI, Canopus AVI, QuickTime or QuickTime 24p. The FS-4 Pro model also includes MXF, Pinnacle AVI and Avid DV-OMF support. FAST AND EFFICIENT EDITING Once you have finished shooting, FS-4 and FS-4 Pro are mounted to your Mac or PC editing system like a normal FireWire hard disk drive. Transfer clips to your NLE's media drive at up to four times real-time or edit instantly in real-time using FS-4 as your media source. CONFIDENCE RECORDING Simultaneously record to disk and tape using FireStore FS-4. FS-4 is immune to tape drop-outs providing you with a clean edit source and an archive on tape. COMPACT, LIGHTWEIGHT AND RUGGED DESIGN FireStore FS-4 is a lightweight, weighing less than one pound including the battery and it is only 1.5" thick! The unobtrusive design allows you to mount directly to your camcorder using the optional hot shoe adapter, or clip FS-4 directly to your belt. The product's attractive packaging is made to withstand the rigors of field shooting. The 10 second electronic shock cache ensures your video is always recorded even in the roughest of conditions.
