Q: There are several cf card types/prices from 35MB/s (233x) to 90MB/s (600x). What should be the recording speed of the card for a good performance?
A:

For optimal recording performance we recommend the 90MB/s cards; however, the 60MB/s cards can also be used. Q: Do you have a list of compatible compact flash cards?
A: The following cards have been tested and are compatible to use with the DN-60:

Q: Will the batteries from the DN-60 act as a backup battery in case of a power outage from the DC connector?
A: No, it doesn't. When the power supply is physically connected to the DN-60, the circuit from the recorder will not switch to battery power.

Q: What accessories does the DN-60 come with?
A: It comes with the AC-power, 20" 6-pin Male to 6-pin male IEEE-1394 and a 6-pin male to 4-pin male only.

Q: Is a CF card included?
A: Yes, a 16 GB SanDisk CF card is included with a DN-60.

Q: Can it be "triggered" to record by the camera?
A: Yes, the recorder has built in trigger control.

Q: Can you use the DN-60 as a CF reader on a mac or PC?
A: No, you must remove the card from the DN-60 and connect it to a CF reader.

Q: Final Cut Pro does not natively support the .m2t files. How can I convert .m2t files to use with Final Cut Pro?
A: You can use a program like, Streamclip to convert the .m2t files.

Q: Which NLE software applications can read .m2t files natively?
A: Here is a list of Non Linear Editors which support .m2t files: Adobe Premiere CS3 or higher, Sony Vegas 8 or higher, Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum, Grass Valley Edius, Avid Media Composer and Pinnacle Studio 12 or higher.

Q: Is it necessary to have a tape inside my camera to begin the recording process on the DN-60 recorder?
A: No, the DN-60 has a Sync to Tape (STO) feature, which can synchronize the recording process with the transport control of the tape. The Sync to Tape feature needs to be disabled to begin recording without a tape in your camera.

Q: Does the DN-60 support line 21 (closed captioning)?
A: No, unfortunately the DN-60 does not support line 21.
